    , Article Journal of Ceramic Processing Research ; Volume 17, Issue 10 , 2016 , Pages 1033-1041 ; 12299162 (ISSN) Tayebi, S ; Mirjalili, F ; Samadi, H ; Nemati, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Hanyang University  2016
    Abstract
Hydroxyapatite is the most important bio ceramic, due to its structure and chemical composition which is similar to bone. Since feeble fracture toughness, brittleness and low tensile strength have restricted their use, for overcoming this problem, they were often used as a secondary component. HAp-Al2O3 nano-composite powder combined the benefits of biocompatibility of HAp and high strength of Al2O3. When HAp-Al2O3 nano-composite powders were sintered at a higher temperature than 1100- 1200°C, HAp was decomposed and converted to the second phase of TCP, due to the formation of calcium aluminate increasing decomposition speed of HAp to TCP at higher degree than 1100-1200°C temperatures;...

Objectives: The present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of ERP in the Iranian general population and demonstrate its clinical and ECG correlates. Methods: A cross sectional study, comprising 1424 consecutive healthy adult individuals, was conducted at two university based hospitals in Tehran, Iran in 2012-2013. The ERP prevalence, clinical characteristics and ECG morphology were investigated in volunteers. Results: ERP was present in 136 out of 1,424 people (9.6%)....

    2012
    Abstract
In this research, the effects of nano-sized MgO in Al2O 3-SiC composites were investigated. The overall changes in the density and mechanical properties of sintered samples (hardness, bending strength and toughness) were evaluated. After mixing, drying and uniaxial compaction of the powders, they were first heat-treated at low temperature in an electric furnace to remove any residuals. They were then heat-treated at high temperature (1700 °C) inside a graphite furnace in argon atmosphere for sintering (at normal and high pressure). The content of MgO in the Al 2O3-10 vol% SiC composite was 0, 500, 1000, and 1500 ppm. Thefracture toughness(KIC)of sintered composite with 10...

A novel robust decentralized adaptive fuzzy control for swarm formation of multiagent systems

    , Article IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics ; Volume 59, Issue 8 , 2012 , Pages 3124-3134 ; 02780046 (ISSN) Ranjbar-Sahraei, B ; Shabaninia, F ; Nemati, A ; Stan, S. D ; Sharif University of Technology
    IEEE  2012
    Abstract
In this paper, a novel decentralized adaptive control scheme for multiagent formation control is proposed based on an integration of artificial potential functions with robust control techniques. Fully actuated mobile agents with partially unknown models are considered, where an adaptive fuzzy logic system is used to approximate the unknown system dynamics. The robust performance criterion is used to attenuate the adaptive fuzzy approximation error and external disturbances to a prescribed level. The advantages of the proposed controller can be listed as robustness to input nonlinearity, external disturbances, and model uncertainties, and applicability on a large diversity of autonomous...

    Abstract
A silicon carbide coating was formed on the surface of graphite flakes by reaction of molten Si with carbon at 1100-1300. °C in a 95%KCl-5%NaF molten salt under Ar atmosphere. The effect of temperature and Si/graphite ratio in the initial mixture on the quality and the amount of SiC were investigated by XRD and SEM/EDS analyses. Also, the water wettability, oxidation resistance and zeta potential of un-coated and coated graphite were examined by TGA analysis and sedimentation test. The results show the amount of coating to increase in the coated flakes with increasing temperature and Si/graphite ratio. The SiC coating improves water wettability of graphite and acts as a protective layer to...

    Abstract
In this research, we developed a cost-effective automated guided vehicle for small clothing production workshops that ordinary workers in such workplaces can operate. We acquired workers’ opinions in multiple workshops about using the robots (with some social capabilities) and working alongside them. We performed the tests in China and Iran to investigate and compare different preferences and priorities in two countries with different cultural backgrounds. We used the UTAUT questionnaire and conducted two-way ANOVA tests considering two independent factors: Nationality and Gender. The results showed that workers in Iran and China have relatively similar expectations from a social AGV, with...
