    Microalgae as a candidate for production of biodiesel, possesses a hard cell wall that prevents intracellular lipids leaving out from the cells. Direct or in situ supercritical transesterification has the potential for destruction of microalgae hard cell wall and conversion of extracted lipids to biodiesel that consequently reduces the total energy consumption.     The analysis of the capture zone of wells is useful to design pumping systems and wellhead protection programs. In this study, an analytical solution for the head distribution of a partially penetrating well, and semi-analytical methods to determine the geometry of the capture surface are presented. The analytical solution is derived based on an infinitesimal radius under a constant pumping rate in a two-zone confined aquifer.     Biofiltration of Triethylamine (TEA) vapor used as a catalyst in casting operations was evaluated in this study The unit consisted of a 6-L three-stage biofilter containing a mixture of compost and wood chips (40:60 v/v) as the filter medium. Seed microbial population from municipal activated sludge was acclimated for a period of three weeks prior to the actual experimental runs.     In this study, a laboratory-scale biotrickling filter (BTF) is used to remove Triethylamine (TEA) from gaseous wastes. The BTF is made of stainless steel with a height of 210 cm and an internal diameter of 21 cm packed with lava rocks. TEA elimination pattern was evaluated by changing empty bed residence times (EBRTs). The maximum elimination capacity (EC) has been determined to be 87 g/m3/h. At all EBRTs 52, 31, 20, and 10 s, contaminant transferring from gas phase to liquid was more than the EC. Also, the removal efficiency was 100 % for a mass loading of 100 g/m3/h.     In this paper, a robust control design strategy is introduced to synchronize two different chaotic systems. The controller is based on particle swarm optimization (PSO). Particle swarm optimization is a well-known evolutionary optimization algorithm inspired by organism behavior of birds flocking and fish schooling.
