    Abstract
    The gelatin/gum arabic microcapsules encapsulating peppermint oil were prepared by complex coacervationusing tannic acid as hardening agent. The effects of various parameters, including concentration of wall material, core material, tannic acid and Tween 80 were investigated on particle size and encapsulation efficiency. For statistical evaluation of the parameters, Taguchi method was concerned. The size of prepared spherical microcapsules was 19-66 micrometers.     Abstract
    The drying of saffron stigma was investigated in a laboratory infrared dryer. The effect of temperature on the drying rate of samples at various temperatures (60,70...110 °C) was studied. The drying time decreased with an increase in drying air temperature. The constant-rate period is absent from the drying curve. The drying of saffron occurred in the falling rate period.     An integrated approach is presented for predicting granule particle size using Partial Correlation (PC) analysis and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). In this approach, the proposed model is an abstract form from the ANN model, which intends to reduce model complexity via reducing the dimension of the input set and consequently improving the generalization capability of the model.     Abstract
    The immobilization of cellulase onto non-porous ultrafine silica particles was studied. Cellulase was extracted from a Trichoderma reesei culture after partial purification with ammonium sulfate (pH = 5.0), which was then immobilized onto non-porous ultrafine silica particles, with or without the use of glutaraldehyde as a crosslinking agent. Cellulase was immobilized by adsorption onto ultrafine silica particles efficiently, as well as by covalent cross-linking with glutaraldehysde.     In this paper, modified Adomian decomposition (MAD) is introduced to investigate the effect of the Casimir attraction on pull-in instability of beam-type NEMS theoretically. Two engineering cases including cantilever and double cantilever nano-beam are considered. The proposed MAD method is employed to solve the nonlinear constitutive equation of nano-beams. The basic engineering parameters such as critical deflection and pull-in voltage of nano-beams are computed. It is found that the Casimir forces decrease the pull-in deflection and voltage of nano-beams.
