Synthesis, characterization, and application of a new tripodal ligand for the preparation of LSCF(6482) perovskite

    , Article Chemical Papers ; Vol. 68, issue. 7 , 2014 , p. 989-994 Taheri, Z ; Ghanbari, B ; Hajibabaei, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
The main aim of this paper was to study the effect of a new tripodal chelating agent on La1-x Sr x Co1-y Fe y O3-δ perovskite prepared by the complexation method. For this purpose, a phenolic derivative of glycine (L) was synthesized applying the Mannich reaction and characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopies as well as by elemental analysis. To evaluate the complexation capability of L, its formation constants with the perovskite cations were measured. Comparison of these results with those reported for the complexaion with glycine, introduced L as a good candidate for the complexation with Fe(III) and La(III) cations. Furthermore, the powder XRD observations confirmed an improvement in the...

    Abstract
A new non-enzymatic sensor for glucose is prepared by using of Ni(II)-one dimensional coordination polymer (Ni(II)-Cp) and C 60 . The Ni(II)-Cp prepared by slow diffusion and evaporation of two solution layers of NiCl 2 and diaza-macrocycle bearing two pyridine side arms (as the reported tecton) in DMF. The Ni(II)-Cp was characterized by powder x-ray diffraction (PXRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as well as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). C 60 as modified was added to Ni(II)-Cp for improving the electrical and chemical stability of the composite. The newly assembled Ni(II)-Cp/C 60 also coated on glassy carbon electrode (GC) to...

    Abstract
Abstract In this work, two [60] fullerene derivatives were employed as flow improvers for waxy crude oil to reduce problems caused by the crystallization of paraffin during the production and/or transportation of the crude oil. These amine-based derivatives of [60] fullerene have been applied as wax inhibitor for improvement of rheological performance as well as pour point depressant in a waxy crude oil. Moreover, the influence of these [60] fullerene derivatives on the viscosity and pour point was also investigated in an Iranian waxy crude oil sample. The [60] fullerene derivatives were simply prepared by stirring a solution of [60] fullerene and two lipophilic amines. The results similarly...

    Abstract
Two unique heteronuclear Schiff base complexes of Cu(II), [{Cu(L)Na(ClO4)}2(μ-H2L)] (1) and Ni(II), [{Ni(L)Na(BF4)}2(μ-H2L)] (2) were synthesized and characterized by different spectroscopic methods as well as X-ray crystallography. The Schiff base ligand (H2L) was synthesized from the condensation meso-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethylenediamine with 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde. The 3d metal ions in these complexes have been accommodated by the inner N2O2 compartment of the Schiff base ligand, while the O2O′2 outer compartment has accommodated the Na(I) ion (O and O′ denote the phenolic and methoxy oxygen atoms, respectively). Besides, a Schiff base ligand has doubly bridged the M(II)/Na(I) moieties via...

    Abstract
Two mononuclear coordination complexes of fullerene[60] with Pd(dba)2 (dba = dibenzylideneacetone), [(η2-C60)Pd(Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2C(H)C(O)R)2] (R = C10H7 (1), C6H4Cl (2)), have been prepared using a simple procedure to explore new directions in palladium catalysis and nanocarbon chemistry. The palladium(0)-[60]fullerene complexes incorporating unsymmetrical phosphorus ylides have been characterized by 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopic methods and other conventional techniques such as IR, TGA, SEM, ICP-OES, EDX and TEM analysis. Attributed to the enhanced dispersity and uniform size of the Pd nanoparticles with phosphine-functionalized fullerenes, the prepared catalysts exhibited comparable...

    Abstract
Dense membrane of La 0.6Sr 0.4Co 0.8Fe 0.2O 3-δ (LSCF) perovskite was prepared using a new chelating agent, EDTNAD. The oxygen permeation flux through the pure perovskite LSCF dense membrane was measured at 1073-1223 K, thickness of 0.7-1.0 mm, and oxygen partial pressure of 0.1-1.0 bar. Oxidative coupling of methane reaction using LSCF disk in the membrane reactor and at 1073-1173K showed a C 2 100% selectivity and 5.01% C 2 yield at 1153 K. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 19th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and 7th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (Prague, Czech Republic 8/28/2010-9/1/2010)

    Abstract
Three dense membranes of types SrCo0.8Fe0.2O 3-δ (SCF(82)), La0.6Sr0.4Co 0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (LSCF(6482)) and La 0.8Sr0.2Co0.6Fe0.4O 3-δ (LSCF(8264)) perovskites were prepared by complexation applying a chelating agent, ethylene diamine N,N,N′,N′-tetra-N- acetyl-diamine (EDTNAD). The oxygen permeation flux through the perovskite membranes was measured as a function of temperature within 1,073-1,223 K as well as the oxygen partial pressure of 0.1-1.0 bar. The oxygen permeation fluxes for the membranes, SCF(82), LSCF(6482), LSCF(8264) with the thickness of 0.85 mm were observed as 9.2×10-7 (mol/cm2 s), 1.7×10-7 (mol/cm2 s), and 1.0×10-7 (mol/cm2 s) in these cases at 1,153 K. The results indicated the...

    Abstract
Two new heteronuclear Nickel(II)/Sodium(I) complexes of a side-off compartmental Schiff base ligand were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic methods. Crystal structures of both of the complexes were also obtained. The Schiff base ligand was synthesized from the condensation of meso-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethylenediamine with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde. In both of the complexes the Ni(II) ion is coordinated to the inner N2O2 coordination sphere with square-planar geometry and the Na(I) ion is coordinated to the outer O2O2′ coordination sphere. In Complex (1) with general formula [Ni(L)Na(CH3OH)(ClO4)] the sodium ion is seven coordinated while in (2) with general formula...

    Abstract
Introduction: Diabetic neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus. It is associated with nerve damage due to oxidative stress and high levels of pro-inflammatory mediators. In the present study, we examined the anti-nociceptive effects of Fullerene nanoparticle, as a potent anti-oxidant, during diabetic neuropathy. Methods: Diabetes mellitus induced through injection of streptozotocin (STZ) (40 mg/kg). Four groups were used in the study as follows: the control, control+fullerene, diabetes, and diabetes +fullerene groups. All four groups received sesame oil. Treatment rats received fullerene C60 (1mg/kg/day) for 9 weeks by intra-gastric gavage. Then, cold allodynia, histology,...
