    Investigation of Equilibrium and Kinetics of Uranium Solvent Extaction by Cyanex 301 Using a Single Drop Column

    Abstract
    Uranium separation from other metals in ore and nuclear waste is one of the most important stagesin nuclear fuel cycling. Solvent extraction is the common method for uranium extraction that reagent plays important rule in this technique. In this investigation, uranium solvent extraction is carried out by Cyanex 301 as reagent from nitric acid. At beginning, equilibrium batch extraction was carried and the effect of parameters such as pH, reagent concentration, temperature, shaking time of two phases, volumetric ratio of two phases, diluent and nitric acid concentration on extraction was investigated and optimum value of parameters was calculated.     Abstract
    In this study, in order to investigate the effect of the underlying pore-scale processes on continuum scale simulations of porous media dissolution, we improve the standard Lattice Boltzmann method using Quadtree grid refinement approach to simulate fluid flow and reactive transport through large domain sizes. Our results have shown considerable computational improvements up to 80% in simulation time together with increased numerical accuracy. The results and the added value of the new approach are discussed using comparison of our model with the conventional LBM.     Simulation of Clogging in Porous Media by Pore Network Model

    Abstract
    Clogging of the pores of the porous medium occurs in different processes such as geothermal injection pumps, hydrocarbon wells, and underground water extraction wells. We need a model that can simulate these blockages in order to predict how fundamental variables of the porous medium change under different flow regimes and different particle sizes in the fluid (for example, the relationship between porosity and permeability changes). The aim is to simulate clogging in a porous medium using a pore network model. Simulations should model pore clogging and show how the permeability of the sample changes due to pore clogging.     Abstract
    Injection molding is one of the most important manufacturing processes for mass production of complex plastic parts. In this study, mold filling is simulated by using the OpenFOAM software for Non- isothermal Newtonian fluid. The OpenFOAM is an open source software that is used in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools. The studied mold shape has a rectangular structure with a gate for Newtonian fluid injection. The simulation carried out at non-isothermal conditions and two-dimensional flow is considered.
